FAO - FOOD AND AGRICULTURE ORGANIZATION
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Our goal is to achieve food security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food to lead active, healthy lives. With 194 members - 193 countries and the European Union, FAO works in over 130 countries worldwide. To achieve its mandate of ending hunger, FAO collaborates closely with other UN agencies, funds and Programmes, leveraging their respective strengths and comparative advantages. FAO is actively pursuing this objective by promoting innovative approaches to UN collaboration, tapping into the strength of transformative partnerships, which are powerful alliances that are designed to deliver sustainable outcomes through systemic, long-term and disruptive action, as highlighted in the FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031.
